Sangeetacharya Satyakinkar Bandyopadhyay
Sangeetacharya Satyakinkar Bandyopadhyay was one of the bright luminaries of the Vishnupur Gharana - deeply rooted in the musical traditions of Vishnupur, yet wonderfully original and creative - a versatile genius, yet a person of great humility.

Versatile - truly he was. He was equally at ease in vocal as well as instrumental music. As we all know he enthralled many with his renditions of Dhrupad, Khayal and Tappa. He also played Sitar, Esraj, Tabla and Pakhawaj. His Sitar was something very special. The Sangeetacharya was not very keen on performing publicly
